The Bright Learning podcast
1:1 conversations with the people making AI decisions inside schools: district technology leaders, superintendents, teachers, researchers and, now and then, the people building the tools.
The premise
AI is landing in K-12 schools faster than anyone can write it down. The decisions that matter are being made by a few people in each district, mostly without an audience. Each episode is a 40-minute conversation with one of them about a real decision: what they chose, what they ruled out, what went wrong, and what they would tell a peer facing the same call.
Founding season
We are recording the founding season now. The show launches the week of January 19, 2027 with three episodes, then runs weekly. If you received an invitation from us, this page is where that email points.
Your host

Sam Naji founded and edits Bright Learning. He works at the intersection of AI and education and has spent years building and advising on AI in K-12 schools.
Disclosure. Bright Learning is editorially independent. I also run UniqLearn, an edtech company; the show is separate, never pitches products, and nothing about guests is ever shared with UniqLearn. UniqLearn will never contact you.
Who owns Bright Learning, and how it uses AI
Bright Learning is a small, independent, self-funded publication founded and edited by Sam Naji. It takes no sponsors. Our news desk uses AI to draft, under theBright Learning Newsroom byline, and every step is described onHow Bright Learning works. The podcast is human: Sam researches, invites, hosts and edits every episode.
How guests are chosen
- We invite people because of something specific and public they did in the last year: a policy, a pilot, a paper, a decision.
- No paid placement, no sponsor-picked guests, no pay-to-play. Nobody buys a seat on the show.
- Edtech founders never appear in the first three episodes and make up at most one in four episodes overall.
- Anyone can suggest a guest: nominate someone. Sam reads every nomination.
- We write to people once, follow up at most twice, and take silence as a no. Reply "unsubscribe" to any of our emails and you will not hear from us again.
Format, recording and data
- A 40-minute conversation inside a 60-minute block, remote. Google Meet by default; your own Teams or Zoom link works too.
- You see the questions when you book, and you review the episode before it airs.
- Recorded with the meeting platform's own recording into our Google account. Transcribed with Google Meet's built-in transcript; no third-party AI service touches it. No AI bot joins the call. Raw files are deleted 12 months after publishing and are never used for ads or AI training.
- No student names or identifying details, ever. You can say "cut that" at any point.
- Communications offices: there is a one-page brief you can print or forward.
Guest terms, in plain English
- Edits are for length and clarity only. We never change the meaning of what you said, and you can say "cut that" during the recording.
- You get the episode, transcript, title, notes and clips at least 7 days before publish. We fix or remove anything that misstates you, could identify a student or colleague, or reveals security details.
- You can withdraw before publishing, and we delete the recording. Corrections after publishing are made within 5 business days.
- We publish the episode and clips on Bright Learning channels. Your voice and likeness are never used in ads and never used to train AI.
- No paid placement, sponsors or co-marketing. Guests name their organization once; no offers or URLs on air; outcome claims need a public source.
- We don't broker introductions to other guests. Raw files aren't shared; finished clips are.
- Your district's or institution's own media release can replace ours, and the terms more protective of you apply.
- Bright Learning keeps final editorial control. Review is for accuracy, not messaging. No payment, sponsorship or joint promotion is exchanged.
