Chicago school board weighs ballot questions on new district revenue

The Chicago Board of Education voted at a special meeting to place two nonbinding advisory referendums on the November 2026 ballot, one asking voters about a statewide millionaires tax for education and one asking about a financial penalty on owners of vacant city land to fund Chicago Public Schools.
